Umpqua Bank’s Go-To app does what other financial apps don’t do: gives you unfettered access to a real human banker. But we’ve all learned it’s taboo to talk about money and as a result a lot of us don’t know what to say even when we have someone to talk to.
Our campaign humorously capitalized on this universal truth by showing people in relatable life/money moments—a tax return, a lost card, a son who’s growing up too fast—trapped in a state of heightened emotion. Our heroes laugh, squeal, and omm while cheeky subtitles translate their sounds into words. The campaign included video, photo, OOH, digital ads, print, and retail assets. It has been one of Umpqua’s best performing campaigns to date.
